The Original Gold Miniature Nantucket Lightship Basket with Scrimshaw Top

A gold oval, with hinged lid, ivory on the lid with scrimshaw in colored or black ink depicting Nantucket Harbor scenes, wildflowers, ships and whales. The lid opens to reveal a tiny penny which is dated 1977, the "birthdate" of the gold basket. The handle swings and the bottom is signed and dated. Scrimshaw tops are done by hand.
